- Pfizer is celebrating 75 years of the opening of the
Portage site by Upjohn. The two major buildings opened
in 1948 were Building 38, Fermentation Production, and
Building 39, Biological Extracts. It took until 1951 to
fully complete the site.
- Ten years ago, on July 1st, 2013, the upjohn.net
website was launched. It was been updated regularly
since then and now contains over 850 web pages, 18,000
images and 22 historic movies.
- The 1935-built Upjohn headquarters building in
Downtown Kalamazoo has been placed on the National
Register of Historic Places, which is the nation's official list of districts, sites,
buildings, structures, and objects that have been deemed
worthy of preservation for their historical significance.
