It's hard to overstate
how much W.E.Upjohn was admired and idolized by the Kalamazoo
community. They called him "The First Citizen" of Kalamazoo
and when he died in 1937, the whole community was in
mourning for years. In 1939, Donald Gilmore sent out this
letter to all Upjohn employees with the two booklets below
attached, both of which talk about W.E.Upjohn and his legacy.
