A
tonic is usually something to perk you up but it's hard to
see how this Hematic Tonic would do that. It contains
strychnine, arsenic and mercury. That's one deadly poison
and two toxic metals. The dose is 1 to 2 pills after each
meal. It was sold by Upjohn from 1920 to 1929. Back then the
FDA was brand new and it took decades for it to stop the
sale of all medications like this that did more harm than
good.
