As I look out of my window today, January 13, 2024 (photo
below), I'm reminded of the last site-wide snow day in the
history of The Upjohn Company. It was back in January 1982. The
forecast was for a bad ice storm. Upjohn canceled work for
the day. Every employee was told to stay home. Alas, there
was no ice at all so the company had inadvertantly given
everyone an extra day of vacation. There were no site-wide
snow days after that one. Employees were expected to get
into work regardless of the weather.
