Even in the 21st Century, the drawing below is still stored In
the engineering drawings systems at the Portage site. I found the 1949 survey that went to employees and some followup
memos on the project. In 1952 the project was dropped because of
cost and because the City of Kalamazoo wanted to create the
Milham neighborhood. Back then the city stopped at Cork Street
so a residential development south of there have would suited
the city and Upjohn. In an
album loaned to me by Alene Mejeur I found the final article
from June 1986.
