There was always a library, even if it started out as a couple of humble book shelves. The photos below start in 1934. In 1941 it contains 6,000 books and one librarian. In the 1950s the library received a big upgrade in facilities. By 1954 it had grown to 20,000 books with a staff of 12 people. When Building 267 was built in Downtown Kalamazoo during the early 1980's the library moved into one of its upper floors. |
