The prism below is for a Perkin Elmer Model 12 Infrared Spectrophotomer used in the Upjohn Research Division during the 1950's. On the label is the date 3-23-53. These sodium chloride prisms needed to be kept dry so they were stored in a glass container with a tin full of dessicant. This particular prism, which is in near-perfect condition, is currently in the collection of Paul Meulman. |
