Upjohn Blotters Blotters were used universally in the era of fountain pens when we loaded liquid ink into pens (Yes, I can remember doing that as a boy!). The blotters were used to absorb extra ink on the nib of the fountain pen or for test writing to ensure the ink was flowing correctly. Most companies provided blotters that had advertising printed on them. Here are the ones in Carol's Upjohn collection. |
